As a building industry professional and Duke Energy rate payer, I am writing in support of the Residential New Construction (RNC) Program to the Duke Energy Carolinas (DEC) territories, and request that the Commission reject Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC’s motion to withdraw its application as referenced in Docket No. E-7, Sub 1155.As a residential homebuilder in the Duke Energy Carolinas territory, I work hard to deliver the best product I can to the market. Homebuyers are just as focused on initial costs as we are, and the DEC RNC Program would enable me to invest in energy efficient construction practices and realize the cost benefits in real time. As a result, expanding the RNC Program to all of the Duke Energy Carolinas territories will have a major impact on new construction in these areas.
Please deny Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC’s motion to withdraw it’s application and instead approve expansion of this very successful program.
