Much like building codes, green building programs update on regular cycles to stay ahead of the code and incorporate current technologies. Home Innovation Research Labs has released a new version of their green building program, The National Green Building Standard (NGBS). Southern Energy Management is proud to be offering this new version, the “2015 NGBS”, to all of our clients. We really mean all clients as NGBS can be implemented with new construction or the renovation of mixed use, multifamily, hotels, student housing, townhomes, and single family homes. If people live in your building, you can achieve the NGBS Green Building Certification.
Home Innovation Research Labs is implementing a phased roll out of the 2015 NGBS that is based on the IECC energy code your state has adopted:
The 2015 NGBS is currently out and available for anyone to implement if they choose. We’re already working on 2015 NGBS projects in North Carolina and Florida! If you’re thirsty for more info check out the NAHB’s blog on the new practices and updates from 2012 to the 2015 version.
With fifteen Home Innovation NGBS Green Verifiers who have already been accredited to work with the new NGBS Standard, three Home Innovation NGBS Green Verifiers who have been recognized as 2017 NGBS Green Partners of Excellence, and two Home Innovation NGBS Green Master Verifiers we say this with confidence: We will help you navigate the changes between the current NGBS version (2012) and the new one (2015). If NGBS does not meet your development goals we will evaluate other high performance programs and/or incentive programs.
Project registration, while required, is still free of charge and can only be executed by an accredited Home Innovation NGBS Green Verifier. Contact us today so we can register your development in the program that is right for you!
